Experience
Reena leads the firm’s Internal Investigations Practice Area, regularly partnering with compliance, ethics, employment, and HR departments at organizations of all sizes in the public and private sectors to investigate allegations of fraud, bribery, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and violations of other law or policy. Clients turn to Reena to conduct efficient and targeted investigations while also navigating sensitive interactions with employees, directors, and officers at all levels within an organization. She has experience managing high stakes matters involving culture risk, reputational risk, and government reporting requirements.
Reena also counsels clients on investigation best practices, including compliance with federal and local law, and on employment matters. She has experience in complex commercial litigation in state and federal court, including trials in immigration and state court and representing clients pro bono in criminal court.
Reena draws from her background in state and local government during the onset and height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and from her experience investigating and defending white collar criminal matters. She has also had experience in the nonprofit industry.
Reena is a Certified Professional Coach and has honed her coaching skills to enhance her legal practice and to assist firm associates in their professional development.
Representative Matters
Partnered with in-house counsel to conduct sensitive employment and ethics investigations for Fortune 100 compliance and employment departments during tumultuous times of organizational change.
Investigated harassment claims on behalf of a governmental entity.
Conducted culture risk review for Fortune 100 company.
Led sensitive privileged Title IX investigations for universities and K-12 schools.
Conducted Fair Labor Standards Act audit for nonprofit organization.
Represented an individual and construction company in investigations of financial fraud initiated by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
As a member of a large team, served as a lead associate for an oil and gas company in a cross-border government-initiated Foreign Corrupt Practices Act investigation, including responses to inquiries from and representation in front of the Department of Justice and Securities Exchange Commission.
As a member of large team, led a group of associates in all investigative and advocacy efforts in a large-scale False Claims Act matter for a large medical device company.
As a member of a large team, investigated a complex whistleblower fraud complaint on behalf of the corporation’s Board of Directors.
