Experience

Jack concentrates his practice in the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Management-Side Employment Practice Groups. His commercial litigation work includes representation of individuals, corporations, and other closely held businesses in state and federal court in contract disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, business torts, and securities fraud claims. He also defends public and private employers against a wide array of employment claims, including those alleging Title VII discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and hostile work environment. His practice spans all stages of litigation, including drafting of pleadings and motions, managing complex discovery, taking and defending depositions, and arguing dispositive motions.

Jack is also a member of the firm’s Internal Investigations & Compliance Practice Group and has significant experience thoughtfully investigating complex allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and ethical violations for public and private clients. In addition to his work with the firm, Jack volunteers helping veterans, first responders, and their families to obtain wills and powers of attorney through the Chicago Bar Association’s Wills for Heroes Program and also serves as an investigator with the Chicago Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee.

Before joining the firm, Jack worked in the City of Chicago Department of Law’s Constitutional and Commercial Litigation Division, where he developed a strong understanding of internal City operations while defending and advising the City and its departments on issues arising from free speech, due process, equal protection, takings clause, and contracting disputes. Prior to his time with the City, Jack served for two years as a law clerk to the then-chief judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana. His experience drawn from his time both in front of and behind the bench allows him to be an efficient, insightful, and effective litigator.
